Step By Step Video Tutorial With Patterns To Make Custom Fitted Barefoot Shoes
Are you tired of uncomfortable shoes that restrict your feet? Do you want to experience the freedom and flexibility of wearing barefoot shoes? Look no further! In this step-by-step video tutorial, we will guide you through the process of making your very own custom fitted barefoot shoes.
Why Choose Barefoot Shoes?
Barefoot shoes are designed to mimic the natural shape and movements of your feet. They provide a wide toe box, zero-drop sole, and flexible materials that allow your feet to move naturally. Wearing barefoot shoes can improve posture, balance, and foot strength, while also reducing the risk of common foot problems, such as bunions and plantar fasciitis.
Gather the Materials
Before we dive into the tutorial, let's gather all the materials you'll need to make your custom fitted barefoot shoes:

- Pattern template (downloadable from our website)
- Quality fabric of your choice
- Elastic cord
- Scissors
- Needle and thread or sewing machine
- Pins
- Marker or chalk
- Measuring tape
- Optional: decorative elements like buttons or embroidery thread
Step 1: Print and Cut the Pattern
Start by downloading and printing the pattern template from our website. Carefully cut out the pattern pieces along the designated lines.
Step 2: Choose and Cut Your Fabric
Select a fabric that is durable and breathable. You can use canvas, denim, or even recycled materials like old jeans or t-shirts. Once you have your fabric, place the pattern pieces on top and trace around them with a marker or chalk. Cut out the fabric along the traced lines.
Step 3: Sew the Upper and Sole
Begin by stitching the upper part of the shoe together. Pin the fabric pieces as instructed on the pattern and then carefully sew along the edges, leaving an opening for the foot entry. Once the upper is complete, it's time to sew the sole. Pin it to the upper, aligning the edges, and stitch around the perimeter.
Step 4: Attach the Elastic Cord
To provide the necessary security and flexibility, insert elastic cord through the designated holes or channels on the upper part of the shoe. Make sure the cord is tight enough to hold your foot snugly but not overly constrictive.
Step 5: Try On and Adjust
Slip your feet into the custom fitted barefoot shoes and evaluate the fit. If any adjustments are needed, mark the areas with pins or chalk and make the necessary alterations. This step is crucial to ensure optimal comfort and functionality.
Step 6: Final Touches
Once you are satisfied with the fit, trim any excess fabric and secure loose threads. At this point, you can also add decorative elements like buttons or embroidery thread to personalize your barefoot shoes.
Congratulations! You have successfully created your custom fitted barefoot shoes. Embrace the freedom they offer and enjoy the many benefits of allowing your feet to move naturally. Remember, practice makes perfect, so keep refining your shoe-making skills and feel free to experiment with different materials and designs.
Feel free to refer back to our video tutorial and pattern whenever you want to make another pair. Happy shoe-making!

Moccasins are soft-soled leather shoes (barefoot-shoes) that act and feel just like a second-skin. They are perfect for protecting your feet from sharp objects, dirt, etc., while simultaneously allowing you to feel the ground’s texture. Constructed of 100% leather, these are suitable to wear outdoors and on all types of grounds, but they also make very good indoor shoes.
Learn how to make custom-fitted leather moccasins by hand.
Over the course of 2 hours of video, Lougaya will clearly and precisely demonstrate how to make a pair of moccasins, all with very few simple tools. What sets these moccasins and patterns apart from others that you will find on the market is that these are made to be adjusted exactly to the morphology of each individual person.
Upon purchasing this e-book, you will gain instant access to the videos that will guide you through, step-by-step.
Lougaya’s video tutorial helps viewers understand the right gesture, whereas the written tutorial highlights important details in large images and written explanations, and helps you keep track of each step in order. Even after your first pair, the PDF tutorial is a useful document to remember how to make them without having to watch all the videos again.
Details:
- Tutorials also cover the topics of choosing leather and tools, as well as many bonuses like making soles, leather conditioner, and making good use of leather offcuts (lace, phone cover, etc.).
- No previous experience in leathercraft required.
- With practice, a pair can be made in only 2-3 hours, but it will usually take about 1 day on the first trial.
- It is recommended to occasionally re-sole your shoes to guarantee their durability.
- Patterns should be printed in A4 or US letters.
- These patterns will generally suit feet from size 3 to 11 US / 34 to 44 EU / 1 to 10 UK in all morphology types.
This elegant design is made in 1 piece of leather. It is called "The Heart" as the stitch draws a heart shape when you put your feet next to each other. Although the patterns are very adjustable, it is not recommended for people with a strong instep (when the width around the ball of the foot is narrower than the width around the instep/arch). In such case, "The Moon" or "The Leaf" patterns are easier to accommodate.
