Haiku and Free Verse writing has become the rage among all my Future Learner K12 writers over the past year. Sonakshi Mustafi is the newest among our budding poets to embrace these trendy verse forms. Her love for the haiku stemmed from its brevity and simplicity. Free Verse was where she experimented with rhyming words. With Sonakshi her first draft was where her ideas morphed into poetry. She hardly took time to complete this part of verse creation. However then came the repeated edits and painstaking searches for the appropriate vocabulary and syllable counts. She has put in a lot of hard work to evolve her craft. In “Lockdown Poems” she has written a total of 30 poems. Twenty eight haiku and a couple of free verses. She has designed of the cover of her e-book and has made some smashing sketches and drawings to illustrate her poems.
For the Future Learner K12 team it was a privilege to guide her as she took baby steps into the verse writing space.
