Uncovering The Fulani Agenda For Nigeria - An In-depth Analysis
For years, the Fulani ethnic group in Nigeria has been at the center of heated discussions, with allegations of a hidden agenda slowly emerging. This article aims to dive deep into the complex narrative surrounding the Fulani agenda for Nigeria, shedding light on its realities and implications.
The Origins of the Fulani Ethnic Group
The Fulani people, also known as Fula or Fulbe, are one of the largest ethnic groups in West Africa. Originating from the Futa Jalon region in present-day Guinea, they have traditionally been nomadic herders, moving their cattle across vast distances in search of grazing lands.
In the 18th century, the Fulani Empire, led by Usman dan Fodio, emerged in the northern region of Nigeria. This marked a significant turning point in Fulani history, as it brought Islam to many communities and solidified their dominance in the area.

The Fulani Herdsmen Crisis in Nigeria
In recent years, Nigeria has witnessed a surge in conflicts between farmers and Fulani herdsmen. These clashes, often violent, stem from tensions over land use and resources, including grazing lands and water sources. What started as localized disputes have escalated into a nationwide crisis, claiming many lives and displacing communities.
While some argue that these clashes are merely the result of competition for resources and population growth, others perceive a more sinister motive behind the Fulani's actions. This has led to claims of an alleged Fulani agenda aimed at controlling and dominating Nigeria.
Examining the Alleged Fulani Agenda
Proponents of the Fulani agenda theory argue that there is a deliberate plan by Fulani leaders to assert their dominance over Nigeria and establish an Islamic state. They claim that the Fulani herdsmen crisis is part of a systematic strategy to displace non-Fulani communities and take over their lands.
Additionally, some point to the political landscape, highlighting the disproportionate presence of Fulani individuals in key positions of power across various sectors in Nigeria. This fuels the notion that Fulani leaders are strategically positioning themselves to exert control and influence over the country's affairs.
However, it is crucial to approach these claims with caution. While there may be instances of Fulani herders exploiting existing tensions, attributing a grand agenda to an entire ethnic group based on the actions of a few is problematic and perpetuates stereotypes.
The Socio-economic Factors at Play
To fully understand the dynamics surrounding the Fulani herdsmen crisis, it is essential to consider the underlying socio-economic factors. Nigeria, with its rapidly growing population, is experiencing increasing pressure on land and resources.
The Fulani, like any other community, are not exempt from these challenges. With climate change leading to desertification and shrinking grazing lands, conflicts over resources are inevitable. It is important to address these issues holistically, seeking sustainable solutions that benefit all affected communities.
The Role of Government and Conflict Resolution
One of the critical factors in resolving the Fulani herdsmen crisis is the role of the Nigerian government. Effective governance, unbiased law enforcement, and strategic policies that prioritize peace and inclusivity are crucial in moving forward.
Collaborative efforts should be made to establish dialogue between farmers, herders, and local communities to find mutually beneficial solutions. Empowering these communities through education and resource management initiatives can also contribute to mitigating conflicts and fostering peaceful coexistence.
While the Fulani herdsmen crisis in Nigeria is undoubtedly a matter of concern, it is essential to approach the issue with nuance and objectivity. The claims of a hidden Fulani agenda for Nigeria should be examined critically, considering the complexities of socio-economic factors, resource competition, and historical contexts.
Efforts to address the ongoing conflicts should prioritize peace, inclusivity, and sustainable development. Only through open dialogue and comprehensive understanding can a lasting resolution be achieved for the benefit of all Nigerian communities.

The Fulani’s seemed to have used every means to hide their expansionist and land grabbing agenda by the instrumentality of government. Unfortunately, many ignorant Nigerians helped them by way of politics and allegiance, to promote this ploy. Over time, they had subtly promoted this plan, but the nonchalant attitude of government to reprimand defaulting herdsmen seem to have given them the audacity to project their plan more loudly by killing, maiming, threatening and destroying anyone or community that stands on their way.
This booklet, “Cows and politics” explains how their (Fulani) plans were hatched, how they are progressing, their death blow and what people need to do to halt their plans for Nigeria. I first published part of this booklet as an article on social media in 2017. Without promoting it, I got over 119,000 reads in few months just on Facebook. The total online readership is estimated at over half a million as at the time of publication. Please and tell a friend to also buy a copy.
