2. Create a Study Plan

Developing a study plan will provide you with a clear roadmap for preparing for the exam. Break down your study sessions into smaller, manageable chunks and assign specific topics or literary works to each session. This will help you cover all the necessary material, ensuring a comprehensive review.

Invest in high-quality study materials to enhance your exam preparation. A recommended resource is the CLEP English Literature guide by Sharon Wynne. 6. Seek Additional Help if Needed

If you find certain topics challenging or need further clarification, don't hesitate to seek additional help. Reach out to your professors, classmates, or online communities dedicated to CLEP exam preparation. Engaging in discussions and seeking different perspectives can broaden your understanding and help address any confusion.

Test-Day Tips

On the day of the exam, keep these tips in mind to maximize your performance:

  • Get a Good Night's Sleep: Ensure you are well-rested to optimize your focus and concentration during the exam
  • Arrive Early: Plan to arrive at the testing center early to avoid any stress or rush

Your job will be to test drive your knowledge in English Literature to see if you can answer 50% correctly. Next, use the detailed answers to improve. If you decide you are ready, check to see that your college offers the credits, generally 3 credits. Your accomplishment not only means you don’t have to take that course, you actually fill your major’s requirements. Once you see how easy it is to test out with a 50% cut score, you’re going to want to graduate early. If you take 5 CLEP exams, you can skip one semester. In FL state schools, you can CLEP up to 75% of your courses to obtain a two year degree. These CLEP credits are transferable to a four year degree.

CLEP tests are factual and are easier than SATs which are more in depth. Advanced Placement (AP) exams cover the same topics but are far more difficult.
